17-Year-Old Boy Drowns During Chhath Puja Celebrations News24 –


In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy drowned during Chhath Puja celebrations in Uttar Pradesh’s Vindhyachal area on October 27. Police said another boy is missing.

According to PTI, the victim was identified as Anurag Saroj. Police said five people had gone to bathe in the Ganges River in Nifra village around noon when they started drowning.

A local boatman rescued three people, while one died and another went missing in the incident. Local divers later recovered the body of Anurag Saroj from the river, while the search was on to find the body of 16-year-old Om Pandey.

A senior police officer said those rescued were identified as Shivam Pandey (25), Shivam Sharma (17), and Som Pandey (11), all residents of the village.

Boatman Lalu Nishad managed to save three people, but Anurag and Om could not be saved, the police officer added.

Three killed, multiple injured in truck collision at Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway

In a separate incident, A tragic accident on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway early Monday morning claimed three lives and left several others injured when a speeding truck collided with parked vehicles and people standing nearby. The incident occurred around 6:30 am, according to local authorities.

According to the police, the incident began with a minor collision between a four-wheeler and a passenger vehicle, as the four-wheeler attempted to overtake. However, a speeding truck travelling from Surat towards Srinagar crashed into parked vehicles and a group of people standing nearby.

As per Nilam Goswami, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) of Ahemdabad Police stated that three passengers from the traveller vehicle who were standing on the road died on the spot.
