United Nations Ambassador Dr. Evans Kwadio Afedi visited the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, located in Kevadiya, Gujarat. During his visit, Dr. Afedi expressed deep admiration for the architectural marvel and the breathtaking natural beauty surrounding the site.

The Ambassador explored attractions such as Aushadh Manav (Arogya Van), Jungle Safari, and other key sites in the region. He was warmly welcomed by the authorities and guided through various tourist destinations. Impressed by the area’s transformation, he appreciated how the region has evolved into a global tourist destination while maintaining harmony with nature. “The Statue of Unity is not just a monument; it’s a symbol of unity, vision, and national pride,” Dr. Afedi remarked.

He expressed joy at being amidst nature and interacted with local officials to learn about the role of plants and nature in promoting human health. Dr. Afedi said, “This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited, and I wish to come again in the future. The beauty is mesmerizing, and I urge everyone to visit the Statue of Unity and enjoy nature. Nature prolongs life, health, vitality, and strength.” He also recommended that people from the UN, Europe, and Africa visit this remarkable place.

Dr. Afedi further praised the eco-friendly initiatives and well-planned infrastructure developed around the statue — including the lush greenery, riverfront, and clean, serene environment that enhance the visitor experience.

He commended India’s efforts to promote sustainable tourism and preserve natural heritage while developing world-class attractions like the Statue of Unity. His visit underscored the growing international recognition of Kevadiya as a destination that beautifully blends culture, nature, and modern development.
