The 594-kilometer-long Ganga Expressway was scheduled to be completed by October 12, but continuous rains slowed the pace of construction. According to UPEIDA’s progress report, published on October 27, 2025, overall work on the Ganga Expressway is 90% complete.
Once complete and operational, the Ganga Expressway is set to increase connectivity in Uttar Pradesh. The length of the expressway is 594 km, and will become the longest expressway in the state after its completion. Built at a cost of over Rs. 36,200 crore, the six lane (expandable up to 8 lanes) Ganga Expressway starts from village Bijoli in Meerut district and ends at JudapurDandu village in Prayagraj district of the state. All the structures have been constructed of 8 lane width. The expressway is fully access controlled and designed for a closed toll system.
