A man eloped with his daughter’s would-be mother-in-law in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain just days before the engagement of their children.
According to a report published by NDTV, the police traced the missing pair. The matter came to light on October 30, though the two had eloped a week earlier.
The 45-year-old woman’s son approached the police and lodged a missing complaint. Police said that the woman is a native of Untvasa village.
She was later traced to Chikli village, where she was found living with her son’s fiancée’s father.
During the investigation, it was found that the man had lost his wife and was living with his two sons and a daughter. His daughter was recently engaged to the “missing” woman’s son.
The two reportedly developed feelings for each other during the engagement preparations and later decided to elope.
Despite efforts by her family members to convince her to return, the woman insisted on staying with the man.
