Haryana constable cracks CDS, achieves all-India Rank 13
His journey, from police constable to becoming lieutenant in the Indian Army is both inspiring and interesting. He prepared for the CDS examination during his police training itself, showcasing his dedication and determination. Priyanshu was recruited into the Haryana Police in Faridabad on October 24, 2024. He is originally a resident of Garhi Ujala village in Gohana, Sonipat district of Haryana. His father, Roshan Lal, works as a labour inspector in Sonipat, while his mother, Sukhwinder, is a homemaker. He is the first in his family to join the armed forces and was inspired by Captain Vikram Batra (PVC, posthumous).
“This was my seventh attempt at CDS. I also cleared the Staff Selection Commission exam for appointment as a sub-inspector in the Central Industrial Security Force, the result of which was declared on Diwali day. However, my childhood dream was to join the Army, for which I kept preparing even after becoming a constable,” stated Priyanshu in an interview to HT.
A Proud Moment for Haryana Police
Police spokesperson Yashpal stated that, through his dedication and hard work, Faridabad Police constable Priyanshu secured the 13th rank at the all-India level in the CDS examination conducted by the UPSC.
