To enhance passenger convenience, save time, and boost the tourism industry, the Prime Minister is set to gift the nation a major rail connectivity package from his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi. During his Kashi visit, PM Modi will dedicate four new Vande Bharat trains to the country. Among them, the Varanasi–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will be a special gift for the people of Kashi.
As part of the PM’s itinerary, an address to prominent citizens at Banaras (formerly Manduadih) railway station is also planned. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kashi on Friday, November 7, around 5 p.m. for his two-day visit. He will land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Babatpur, by a special aircraft. Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other dignitaries will receive him at the airport. From there, the PM will proceed to BLW (Banaras Locomotive Works).
On November 8, the Prime Minister will gift the nation four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Banaras station. One of these will run between Varanasi and Khajuraho, considered a major boon for the people of Kashi and eastern Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister will flag off this train from Banaras (formerly Manduadih) railway station.
In addition, three more Vande Bharat Express trains from Lucknow to Saharanpur, Firozpur to Delhi, and Ernakulam to Bengaluru will be flagged off virtually. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the launch event. The Prime Minister may also interact with distinguished citizens at the Banaras railway station.
The direct connectivity of the Banaras–Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will save approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to currently operating special trains. This train will connect India’s major religious and cultural centres of Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho.
This linkage will not only strengthen religious and cultural tourism but also provide devotees and travellers with a fast, modern, and comfortable journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Khajuraho. The train is expected to give a new dimension to India’s tourism industry.
BJP workers will warmly welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at several locations on November 7. They will greet him at Sant Atulanand Bypass, near JP Mehta, the BLW FCI warehouse, and at the BLW gate.
The Prime Minister will also interact with 3,200 intellectuals in Varanasi. This event will include educators, industrialists, social workers, and experts from various fields across the city.
