Detains 1,500 from Anantnag and Pulwama News24 –

Police operations continued for the fourth straight day in the Kashmir Valley. After Monday’s Delhi blasts, the crackdown on terrorists intensified on Tuesday. So far, more than 1,500 people have been detained. The Jammu and Kashmir Police said that teams carried out surprise checks across several districts to deter those allegedly trying to disturb public order.

Who were detained by Jammu and Kashmir Police?

Officials said that properties of Jammu and Kashmir residents living in PoK and those booked under UAPA were also searched. A senior official added that surveillance of several accused released on bail under the UAPA showed violations of bail conditions. News reports suggest that the police are now preparing applications to the competent courts to cancel these bail orders.
