Massive anti-terror crackdown in Valley linked to Red Fort blast, 20 including doctors detained in raids; DGP monitors operation News24 –

In a sweeping counter-terrorism crackdown, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) and SIA wings of Jammu and Kashmir Police’s CID, on the directions of Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, carried out extensive raids across the Valley on Thursday. The searches, conducted jointly with district police units at over 24 locations, are part of an ongoing probe into the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort and white-collar terrorist module.

Top police officials described the operation as “coordinated and extensive,” aimed at unearthing vital evidence and exposing possible accomplices. According to sources, around 20 individuals have been detained so far for questioning, including five doctors, several paramedical staff, and others suspected of links to the Faridabad white-collar terror network and the Red Fort explosion.

The raids followed the interrogation trail of three main doctors allegedly at the center of what police describe as a “white-collar terrorist module.” Officials said that these doctors and their associates were taken into custody overnight by special investigation teams for detailed questioning.

Senior officers confirmed that the intensified operations are being directly monitored by DGP Nalin Prabhat. “The police chief has issued firm instructions to identify and expose every person connected to this white-collar terror module,” said a top source.

The crackdown follows a series of key developments in the investigation. On November 6, a day after the arrest of Dr. Adeel from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the DGP chaired a crucial security review meeting at the Police Control Room in Srinagar. He directed ground units to dismantle the interstate network before it could carry out any attacks.

Subsequent searches in South Kashmir led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle and other ammunition from the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag on November 7. DGP Prabhat personally visited Anantnag and Kulgam the next day to review field operations and assess steps taken to eliminate the terror ecosystem.

In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police confirmed through DNA analysis that Dr. Umar Un Nabi was the individual who executed the Red Fort blast. Investigators said a severed leg found lodged between the steering wheel and accelerator of the explosive-laden vehicle matched Umar’s DNA sample with that of his mother, conclusively establishing his identity.

Security agencies are now expanding their hunt to track the wider network behind the attack. Officials indicated that fresh arrests and raids are imminent as agencies intensify efforts to dismantle the module’s links both within and beyond Jammu and Kashmir.
