Bhagwant Mann govt to launch single-window platform to ensure easy access of public services to people News24 –
The Bhagwant Mann government’s schemes are now going to be easily accessible to the public in Punjab. The government has launched an Integrated Citizen Portal -a single-window platform. The government claims that Punjab is the first state in the country to introduce such an initiative.
Aman Arora, state’s Minister for Good Governance and Information Technology, announced the initiative. He said that through this platform, government schemes from different departments will reach the public without any obstacles.
The government has allocated a budget of Rs 13 crore for the single-window platform. From design to maintenance, the government has signed an agreement with e-Connect Solutions.
The minister said to ensure maximum reach, efficiency, and accountability in delivering government services to citizens, the portal will be launched within six months. He added that the citizen portal will be accessible through the web, mobile app, service centers, and WhatsApp, making government services available to the people of the state.
Talking about the portal, Aman Arora said that the new citizen portal will serve as a single, unified digital gateway for all government services, catering to citizens’ needs. Making the service hassle free from paperwork, he said that the key feature of the portal would be auto-availability of documents, and there is no need to submit them repeatedly.
While talking about the process, he said that once a citizen uploads any document for a service, it will be automatically available for applications in future. This, he added, will streamline services and enhance the overall experience of citizens.
