Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu on 19 November for a packed schedule that includes a spiritual tribute, major public events and a significant announcement for farmers.
The Prime Minister will begin his day in Puttaparthi, where he will offer tributes at the mahāsamadhi of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. His visit coincides with the ongoing centenary celebrations. At a special programme organised in the town, he is expected to release a commemorative coin and a set of postage stamps marking the occasion. The event will be attended by devotees, dignitaries and members of the Sri Sathya Sai organisation, where the Prime Minister will also address the gathering.
Coimbatore summit to focus on natural farming
From Puttaparthi, the Prime Minister will travel to Coimbatore, where he will inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit at around 1:30 pm. The summit aims to promote sustainable and chemical-free farming practices across southern states. More than 50,000 farmers, scientists, agricultural experts and natural-farming practitioners from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry are expected to participate.
The event will feature demonstrations, discussions and exhibitions showcasing natural farming techniques. The summit is being viewed as a major platform to encourage farmers to adopt eco-friendly methods that improve soil health and reduce input costs.
PM-KISAN installment to be released
One of the key highlights of the Coimbatore programme will be the release of the 21st installment under the PM-KISAN scheme. The Prime Minister will transfer Rs 18,000 crore directly into the accounts of around nine crore farmers across the country. The installment is expected to provide timely financial support ahead of the rabi season.
The day-long visit underscores the government’s focus on both cultural heritage and farmer welfare, with two major southern states preparing for high public attendance and tight security arrangements.
