Neyyattinkara police arrest treasury official for cheating at Neyyattinkara pension treasury
Thiruvananthapuram: The Neyyattinkara police have arrested a treasury official who committed fraud at the Neyyattinkara pension treasury. Neyyattinkara police arrested Arun (38) from Kodankara Ushas house in Chengal village. Arun is also a junior superintendent of the Karukachal sub-treasury in Kottayam district.
After getting the treasury account details of Kamalamma, the holder of the Neyyattinkara pension treasury account, Rs 18,000 was snatched from Kamalamma’s treasury account through a fake check through the pension treasury.
According to a complaint lodged by Kamalamma, the fraud was discovered during a follow-up inquiry by the director of the treasury. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the Neyyattinkara Police on 26-05-2022 and the accused was nabbed by a special investigation team led by Neyyattinkara Police Inspector Sagar.
Assistant Sub-Inspectors of Police Suresh Kumar and Jayesh and civil police officers Ratheesh and Anil Kumar were part of the team. The accused has been produced before the Neyyattinkara Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court and remanded.
