Bengaluru: Despite the ban on the movement of two- and three-wheelers, tractors, autorickshaws and non-motorised vehicles on the main carriage of the access-controlled Bengaluru-Mysuru highway, a netizen has claimed that motorcycles enter the stretch using a service road and avoid the toll plaza.

Raghuram BH, a resident of Bengaluru, on Monday, posted on the social media platform X that motorcyclists were entering the part of the highway a little after the Hosadoddi village in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district.

“Sir this is on Bengaluru – Mysuru Expressway,” Raghuram posted. “Heard two wheelers are prohibited. They enter the expressway through service roads avoiding toll plaza. @alokkumar6994 pls do the needful sir. Location has been attached sir.”

Raghuram also shared video footage of a motorist entering the stretch.

Alok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Traffic and Road Safety), Karnataka, assured the netizen of action against the offenders.

“Will take action,” Kumar posted on X. “Have referred to @spramanagara.”

The ban on two- and three-wheelers, tractors, autorickshaws and non-motorised vehicles on the highway came into effect on August 1.
