Southern Railway has announced that a two-way special express train will run between Tambaram-Tirunelveli-Tambaram.
Chennai: In order to deal with the festive rush in the coming days, the Southern Railway is planning to operate special trains from Chennai’s Tambaram to Tirunelveli from August 11 to 15. The announcement comes as a big relief for the people of the state who are planning to visit to their hometowns from the capital city.
On August 11, the train number (06051) special express train will depart from Tambaram at 5 pm and reach Tirunelveli at 4.15 am the next day. Similarly, train (06052) leaving Tirunelveli on the 12th at 5.50 pm will reach Tambaram at 4.10 am the next day.
It has been informed that two first-class AC coaches, 9 sleeper coaches, and 5 second-class general coaches will be attached. The special train will stop at important railway stations including Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Kovilpatti, according to Southern Railway officials.
