UP Shocker! BHU Trauma centre’s false ceiling falls; Over dozen pateints under observation


New Delhi: A major accident took place today at Varanasi’s Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Trauma Center where a false ceiling fell off while many patients were under observation.

The trauma centre is the largest emergency medical center in Purvanchal division of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place on the second floor where a large portion of the ceiling of the poly ward full of patients caved in.

However, the media reports informed that there was no casualties in the incident. At the time of incident, more than a dozen of patients were admitted in the poly ward of BHU Trauma Center.

Patients were lying on their beds in the part adjacent to the wall in both parts of the ward. The part of the false ceiling in the middle of this ward suddenly fell down.

After that, a chaos errupted there as people were trying to rush out of the place with their patients who were relaxing on beds. However, no one was hurt and the medical staff immediately shifted all the patients to another ward.

The information about the incident which took place around 7:00 am came to light after a video went viral. The chilling visuals of the incident sent shockwaves to entire Purvanchal as people from the entire division come here for every major as well as minor medical attention.

This has raised serious concerns over the health infrastructre in the state. The video showed the aftermath situation of the ward where the wall fell down. As seen in the video, there is a heap of broken pieces of walls and properties.
