Delhi’s air quality remains in ‘poor’ category for the third day, with AQI recorded at 210 on Wednesday at 6 am. Along with it, the national capital also witnessed a temperature dip as the minimum recorded on Wednesday morning at 5:30 am was 5.6 degrees Celsius.
AQI from other parts of Delhi: Anand Vihar (221), Ashok Vihar (228), Bawana (258), Dwarka-Sector 8 (250), Punjabi Bagh (228), Jahangirpuri (249), Patparganj (208), Rohini (233). Some areas recorded AQI in ‘moderate’ category: Narela (175), Chandni Chowk (180), Pusa (149)
Meteorological experts have predicted a drop in both maximum and minimum temperature likely in over the next three days as the impact of fresh snowfall in the mountains is felt in the plains too.
There has been a fall in maximum temperature upto 02°C over Delhi/NCR during past 24hr. The Maximum and Minimum temperature over Delhi is in the range of 19 to 22°C and 08 to 10°C respectively.
IMD said that smog/mist is likely to engulf the national capital in morning hours and evening/ night. Delhi will have mainly clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 23 and 7 degree Celsius respectively today.
Notably, Delhi recorded its lowest maximum of the season so far on Monday, when it was clocked at 21.6°C which was three degrees below normal.
As Delhi is getting colder day by day, people have expressed happiness on the pleasant weather condition as AQI dropped down to ‘poor’ category and has remained the same from last three days.
Speaking to ANI, Rajkumar, a resident of Delhi, said that the cold weather is pleasant for walking. “It is cold now and we are feeling fine while roaming and walking and the weather has become very good in Delhi at this time,” he said.
Rajesh, another resident, said he was enjoying walking in this weather. “Now the cold has increased and it is fun to walk. We are enjoying the weather,” he added.
A tourist visiting India Gate, Jiya Mehra said the cold is intense, but it is essential for farmers.
Vipin Saini, a resident of Moradabad visiting India Gate, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that cold weather supports agricultural growth. “It is cold but cold is beneficial for farmers, if there is no cold then it will be harmful for farmers and there will be no crops,” he highlighted.
