Noida: Good News! The upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, is steadily moving towards completion with construction work progressing rapidly. At least 80% of the terminal building construction work has been finished, including key elements like escalators, flooring and the baggage handling system, the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) informed on Monday. Passengers can expect to fly from the brand-new airport in April, 2025.

NIAL Nodal Officer Shailendra Bhatia confirmed that the construction of drinking water lines and water & Sewage treatment plans are undergoing the final touch. Additionally, 79% of the landside development work including terminals, parking lots, access roads, and public transport links is complete. “The airside development work, including taxiways, runways, etc has reached 89% completion,” Bhatia added.

That’s not all! According to the officials, the construction work of the air traffic control tower featuring a glass blade has been completed. To ensure smooth management work, the Airports Authority of India (AAI0 is currently equipping the tower with operational processes.

Progress Of Terminal Construction

The terminal construction work is progressing rapidly. At least ten aero bridges are set to be installed once the work is done, as per reports.

Overview: The first phase (90% complete). Rs 9,024 crore of the sanctioned Rs 10,056 crore is already spent.

Funding Details: Rs 4,326 crore allocated by the UP government for land acquisition. Rs 5,730 crore for development by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited.

Additionally, an eight-lane road with cloverleaf interchanges connecting the Yamuna Expressway to the airport is ready, and a 750-meter stretch linking the terminal to the entry point is under construction. This is part of a larger 31km road that will provide seamless connectivity between the airport and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
