Waqf Amendment Bill: 241 Noida Imams Receive Government Notice

Uttar Pradesh Noida News: After the passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Parliament, high alert has been declared in UP. Under this, on Thursday, Noida Police has issued notices to the Imams of 241 mosques in the district. Sources have revealed that the police has taken such action due to the possibility of deteriorating the atmosphere in Noida. On Thursday, the police team also talked to the Imams and committee members of all the mosques in the district. Apart from this, Noida Police is keeping a special vigil on 28 sensitive places.

No Leave For Police Personnel

On Thursday, Noida Police also took stock of the security arrangements by marching on foot at 28 sensitive places. Officials have deployed heavy police force at all these sensitive locations. They have also directed the intelligence agency to remain on high alert. Authorities have tightened security at every nook and corner of Noida and Greater Noida. They have cancelled all police holidays. Officials have sent notices to nearly all mosques in Noida, instructing them to ensure that no one steps out in protest or causes any untoward incident. They have issued these notices to the Imams or mosque committees.

Authorities Secure 50,000 Bonds To Ensure Public Peace

Noida DCP Ram Badan Singh said that officials sent the notices as a precautionary measure. They are taking bonds of ₹50,000 from the recipients. Authorities have sent notices to all mosques, specifically to the heads of mosques and Imams. In the notice, the Executive Magistrate of Noida stated that there is a strong possibility of a breach of peace. Officials issued these notices under Section 130 of the Indian Civil Security Code.

Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 – What Is In The Notice?

The notice said, ‘I, Executive Magistrate First Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, direct that the opponent/opponents should show the above reasons as to why they should not be bound to maintain peace for 6 months by personal bond of Rs. 50,000 and two securities of the same amount executed by local wealthy persons who are capable of exercising sufficient control over the opponent/opponents to maintain peace.
