A sexual harassment case was reported in Bengaluru as an unidentified suspect molested a woman who was walking through an empty street during the late night.

CCTV Footage Reveals Alarming Attack

The woman accompanied her friend into a quiet residential neighborhood yet encountered an unconstraint attacker who started her assault behind her back according to Aaj Tak. The recorded video footage displays the attacker handling the victim sexually until she successfully defended herself and drove him away. The visuals demonstrate that both the low light levels coupled with an absence of other people made it possible for the attacker to execute his attack without being caught.

Concerns Over Women’s Safety

There are serious worries about the safety of women when they are alone in unmonitored cities during the night after this reported event happened in an area where people rarely walk.

Police Response and Legal Action

According to South East Bengaluru DCP Sarah Fathima an FIR was filed through Sections 74, 75, and 78 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) while investigators are conducting their work. The police revealed their willingness to move forward independently (suo motu) with their investigation in case they did not receive a complaint from the victim. The officer at Aaj Tak stated that the police force considered this incident critical and would implement all gathered evidence for action.
