Mumbai Traffic Alert! Diversions In Place From Today Due To Elphinstone Bridge Closure


Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Mumbai Traffic Police issued an advisory on Wednesday in light of the Elphinstone Bridge closure in the city. The advisory, shared on April 9 on Mumbai Traffic Police’s X handle, outlines that the bridge will temporarily remain closed for two years starting today. The construction of the Shivdi Worli Elevated Connector Flyover and the new Elphinstone Flyover will disrupt traffic along the key routes. Commuters and locals must follow the advisory before planning their respective journeys.

Traffic Diversions In Place

Several key restrictions and traffic diversions will be in place in the west and east directions for the time being. Vehicles traveling toward Dadar West are advised to turn right at Madkebuwa Chowk (Parel TT Junction). Thereafter, take Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road and then a left turn at Khodadad Circle (Dadar TT Junction). Finally, commuters may reach their destination via Tilak Bridge.

Traffic Diversion Due To Closure Of Elphinstone Bridge west Bound

Those traveling to Prabhadevi and Worli should go directly from Madkebuwa Chowk. To reach Krishna Nagar Junction, Supari Bagh Junction, Parel Workshop, and Bharat Mata Junction are advised to travel via Babasaheb Ambedkar Road. Thereafter, commuters can head right on Mahadev Palav Road, located over the Currey Road railway bridge. From there, make a right turn at Shingte Master Chowk and continue heading via Lower Parel Bridge.

Meanwhile, Traffic coming from Sion, Matunga to Prabhadevi and Worli via Elpiston Bridge should take a right turn from Khodadad Circle (Dadar T.T. Junction) via Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and proceed to the desired destination via Tilak Bridge.

Traffic diversion Due To closure Of Elphinstone Bridge East Bound

Traffic heading to the Parel area via Elphinstone Bridge should proceed straight from Sant Rohidas Chowk (Elphinstone Junction). Thereafter, take a left turn from Wadacha Naka Junction, proceed via Lower Parel Bridge, take a left turn from Shingte Master Chowk, and proceed via Mahadev Palav Road via Currey Road Railway Bridge to Bharat Mata Junction to the desired destination.

On the other hand, traffic moving to Parel area via Elphinstone Bridge should proceed straight from Sant Rohidas Chowk (Elphinstone Junction). Then take a left turn from Wadacha Naka Junction, go via Lower Parel Bridge, and then straight from Shingte Master Chowk-N.M. Joshi Road-From Comrade Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction). Thereafter, take a left turn and proceed via Sane Guruji Road via Chinchpokli Bridge, then a left turn from Sant Jagnade Chowk and proceed to the desired destination.
