Three Miscreants Arrested For Extorting Money From Traders – How Were They Held News24 –

Greater Noida: Kasna Police station on Tuesday busted a gang that extorted money from cardboard traders at gunpoint in Greater Noida. They have arrested three accused in connection with the case. Police claim that this gang used to extort money from scrap dealers. Police claim that this gang used to extort money from scrap dealers from other states who trade in cardboard at the rate of one rupee per kg. Two illegal pistols, two live cartridges and a bike have been recovered from the possession of the accused.

Salman, Saurabh And Rishabh Arrested

Greater Noida ADCP Sudhir Kumar stated that on April 13, a businessman had lodged a complaint that some people forcibly demand money for taking cardboard and threaten to beat and kill if not given. On the complaint, a case was registered and investigation was started. ADCP said that during the investigation, the police arrested the accused Saurabh (21 years), Rishabh Bhati (19 years) and Salman (21 years) from near Amrapali Company. Their arrest revealed a big extortion gang.

Gang Use To Keep Eye On Weighing Machines

Police investigation revealed that this gang used to keep an eye on the weighing machines of Greater Noida area.  As soon as a scrap dealer came to weigh cardboard, this gang used to reach the spot and extort one rupee per kg from him. Every day 15-20 cardboard vehicle used to leave from this area, which had about 6-7 tons of goods. This way the gang used to earn illegally 60-70 thousand rupees daily.

How Did They Threaten Traders?

Scrap dealers often come from outside districts like Hapur, Bulandshahr and states like Assam. They used to avoid complaining, which the gang took advantage of. The gang continuously threatened them and extorted money. The police are currently searching for other absconding accused Deepak, Kapil, Prince, Sagar, Arvind, Aaqib and some unknown associates.
