Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash Found Dead At HSR Layout Home; Injury Marks Found, Murder Suspected News24 –
Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash, an 1981 batch IPS officer, was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout on Sunday. Bengaluru City Police suspect that the Ex-police chief was murdered, however, the exact reason is not yet known. According to reports, injury marks were discovered on his body, meanwhile, the police suspect the involvement of a close family member behind his death.
Prakash’s wife, Pallavi, informed about the tragic event to the police. Senior police officials quickly arrived at his residence after receiving the news of his death. The deceased’s body was found covered in blood on the ground floor of his three-story apartment. Meanwhile, his autopsy reports are awaited.

Police have launched an investigation following the retired DGP’s death. At the same time, they are interrogating his wife and daughter to find a possible angle into the case. Reports revealed that Om Prakash had previously raised concerns regarding threats to his life to some of his close aides. The 68-year-old IPS officer was of native of Champaran, Bihar. He had a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geology and was appointed as the Karnataka DGP on March 1, 2015.
As of now, no arrest has been made in connection with the case. Additionally, the motive behind the murder remains unknown.
