Greater Noida Expressway To Get Rs 8-Crore Safety Upgrade With Reflectors, New Signboards, And Lane Markings; Details Inside News24 –
There are various developmental projects going on in Delhi and Delhi-NCR, like Noida International Airport, Film City, and others. Just like these projects, another project has been issued to improve the safety on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. As per media reports, the Expressway will undergo several upgrades. Under this project comes the installation of Solar-powered reflectors, signboards, and fresh lane markings. This move from the Noida Authority came in response to several accidents on the expressway.
According to the Times of India, out of the 24km route, 20 km falls under the Noida Authority, and the remaining 4 km falls under the Greater Noida Authority. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 8 crore.
The work will start from Sector 14A and will cover the entire route. For this project tender has been issued, and contractors who are interested in it can apply for this by May 15, 2025.
As part of the new initiative, outdated signboards along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be replaced. To improve nighttime visibility, solar-powered reflectors will be installed to highlight lanes and curves. Durable, high-quality paint will be used to create new lane markings. Additionally, speed limit signs and rumble strips will be placed at exit points to help slow down vehicles and enhance safety.
As quoted by the Times of India, an official mentioned, “The expressway is very important for connecting different areas and keeping traffic moving, but we saw many issues.”
The authority has urged the Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies to do a detailed survey for a better understanding of problems.
