In a shocking incident in Patna, Bihar, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her childhood friend, who then fled the scene disguised in her clothes. Police investigations revealed that the accused had watched a web series that inspired him to plan the murder meticulously.
The accused, identified as Suraj Kumar, a married man from Vaishali, reportedly studied the web series closely and used it to plan the crime. After killing his friend, Sanjana Singh, he wore her clothes in an attempt to avoid immediate suspicion. The victim’s body was discovered by her maid, who alerted the authorities.
Planning And Execution
According to police sources, Suraj was upset about Sanjana’s upcoming marriage, as he wanted their long-term relationship to continue. An argument escalated into violence when Suraj stabbed Sanjana with scissors and attempted to burn her alive using an LPG cylinder so that it doesn’t seem like a murder. Later, it was confirmed that she was burned while still alive.
Suraj had previously visited her flat and supported her financially. After committing the crime, he fled, wearing Sanjana’s clothes to disguise himself. He also sent someone to file a false mobile theft report in Sakra to mislead investigators. CCTV footage showed him entering the apartment with a backpack and leaving with her laptop bag, which helped police identify and arrest him.
