Mumbai Shocker: Principal Allegedly Poisons Husband, Dumps Body With Students’ Help

(Reported By Vinod Jagdale)

A horrifying incident from Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district has shaken the entire region. A school principal murdered her husband and shockingly involved three of her students in the gruesome crime.

The case came to light in the Chousala forest area near Yavatmal city, where a charred body was discovered on May 15. After the investigation, the police identified the body as that of Shantanu Deshmukh, a teacher at Sunrise English Medium School. The shocking twist was that the murder was not committed by an outsider but by his wife, Nidhi Deshmukh, who is also the principal of the same school.

According to sources, Nidhi and Shantanu had been facing marital discord for quite some time. Just a year into their marriage, the disputes escalated to such a level that Nidhi conspired to eliminate her husband. On May 13, she poisoned Shantanu, leading to his death.

Following the murder, Nidhi, with the help of three minor students from her tuition classes, transported the body to Chousala forest in the darkness of night. Fearing the body might be identified the next day, she returned to the site and attempted to burn the body by pouring petrol on it. However, due to the alertness of the police, the layers of this case soon began to unfold.

Crucial evidence, like pieces of a shirt and buttons found at the site, led the police forward. When the investigators questioned Shantanu’s friends and Nidhi, startling revelations emerged. Underwear found in their home matched the brand of the underwear found on the corpse, raising suspicions about Nidhi. When the pressure mounted, she eventually confessed to the crime.

Currently, Nidhi Deshmukh and the three minor students have been taken into custody. A case has been registered against them under Sections 109 and 238 of the Indian Penal Code. This case is not just a tale of a brutal murder, but also one that shatters the trust that society places in educators and individuals holding positions like school principals.
