Job Seeker From Punjab Duped Of Rs 90,000 By Autorickshaw Driver In Mumbai News24 –

A shocking incident took place in Mumbai, where an autorickshaw driver cheated a passenger. In this incident, a 26-year-old man from Punjab, Amulya Sharma, was cheated out of Rs 90,000 by an autorickshaw driver during a brief ride from Bandra to Andheri. Sharma had recently come to the city seeking a job. The incident took place around 5 a.m. on April 10, when he hired the autorickshaw for the journey.

Not having his glasses on made it hard for Sharma to see clearly. Faithful in the driver’s care, he gave over his phone and asked him to pay with the digital app. The victim was asked for Rs 1,500 by the driver, but the man later swindled him by siphoning Rs 90,000 to a fake account, as per media reports.

When stopped by police, the driver claimed mistakenly that the digital meter read a higher fare. After sensing the problem, Sharma visited the Andheri Police Station and made a formal complaint. The police arrested Ramesh Yadav, a 32-year-old autorickshaw driver, without delay.

A review of the facts showed that someone tampered with the fare meter, so it was clear that something suspicious had happened. According to information found, a case of cheating was reported against Yadav, and officials are checking further to find out if he defrauded other passengers in the same way.

A woman lawyer, aged 30, was allegedly beaten by a delivery person in Andheri West, Mumbai, after they argued about her payment for a parcel on May 8 and the incident was reported to police at Amboli. Through Flipkart, the complainant’s brother ordered two perfumes made by Fogg. At 7:50 PM on May 8, Altaf Mirza, who had the package, came to their house to deliver it. Not having her brother nearby, the woman took the package, explained to the delivery agent that the payment would be done with PhonePe (GPay) and gave the agent the details to complete the transaction. For contact, he handed over his mobile number and made sure to get his sister’s brother’s number.
