Bomb Threat Sparks Security Alert At Bengaluru Airport; No Explosives Found After Hours-Long Search News24 –

The Kempegowda International Airport was subjected to heightened security protocols following a hoax bomb threat that was received by the airport security force, police sources stated on Thursday.

The sources indicated that the email was sent under the name of a terrorist on Wednesday night, and claimed there were two bombs – “Plan A” for one, and a backup under “Plan B” in case the first did not work.

The email also claimed that there was an explosive device placed inside a pipeline in the airport toilet. Security agencies undertook a thorough inspection of the area, and after checks were conducted, officials cleared all bags and stated there were no explosives found, and added the threat was a hoax.

A case has been filed against these email IDs used to send the threat, and an official inquiry is ongoing.
