Multiple Skulls And Bones Found In Residential Apartment Premises During Pit Cleaning Shock The City News24 –
Bengaluru city is in shock after multiple human skulls and bones were discovered within the premises of a residential apartment complex. The skeletal remains, including suspected skull fragments and other bones, were found during the cleaning of a sewage pit. The incident took place at the MN Credence Flora apartment complex in Southeast Bengaluru.
When Was It Discovered
On June 16, the bones and skulls were discovered by the contract workers while cleaning out a percolation pit near the car park. They immediately alerted the head of the residents’ welfare association (RWA), who then contacted the police. However, It is not confirmed that the remains are of human or animal. Police have hinted that it could be of animals or humans. An officer from the Begur police station confirmed the bones have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory to be analysed. The results of these tests are expected within a week.
What Residents Believe
Some residents and people living nearby claimed that the land on which the apartment was built was once a burial ground. They suggested this might explain the presence of the skulls and bones. This theory, shared by a few long-time residents, has added to the mystery surrounding the discovery. A senior police officer acknowledged the possibility raised by locals but said the claim is being treated with caution. He emphasised that no conclusions will be drawn until the forensic report is received.
The clean-up operation was carried out by the civic authorities after multiple notices were sent to the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA). According to a Times Now report, the stormwater management system at the apartment complex — which houses around 45 flats and has been occupied for the past ten years — was not functioning properly. The complex has 16 such pits, but reports indicate that the human remains were discovered in only one of them. The disturbing incident has sparked significant concern among residents. The Begur Police have launched an investigation under Section 194(3)(iv) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
