Delhi Weather Update: A weather shift is underway in the national capital due to active monsoon conditions over the northern region. Residents of Delhi can expect a generally cloudy sky over the next two days, with light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its weather bulletin, stated that there has been a noticeable rise in maximum temperatures over the past 24 hours. The south-west monsoon trough has crossed Delhi and now passes through Ludhiana, Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Daltonganj and low pressure area of West Bengal.

Delhi is set to experience a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain on Wednesday, July 9. A yellow alert for rainfall and thunderstorm has been issued by the IMD. The forecast predicts thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall during the morning hours. Light rainfall is likely to persist even after this active spell. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 34°C.

While the rain will offer relief from heat, and turn the weather pleasant, increasing humidity level might make the day uncomfortable for Delhiites. A humidity level of 80 per cent has been predicted for today.

Forecast For Next 5 Days

Delhi will remain under the influence of monsoon activity throughout the week, marked by cloudy skies and continuous showers accompanied by thunderstorms. The daytime temperature is expected to remain in the range of 33-35°C, while humidity level will range between 80-85 per cent on the remainder days of the week. Residents can expect light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning until July 13.

The weather forecast indicates a prolonged spell of monsoon activity over Delhi. Residents are advised to stay updated with local advisories and take necessary precautions during thunderstorms. They should avoid sheltering under trees, stay indoors during lightning, and remain alert for waterlogging in low-lying areas.
