In a heart-wrentching incident, a 13-year-old school boy was allegedly abducted, murdered and burned in Karnataka’s Anekal, police said. The boy was reportedly kidnapped between 7.30 pm and 8.00 pm on Wednesday night from Shantinikethan Layout, Arakere, under the jurisdiction of Hulimavu police station, while returning home from tuition classes. His burned body was discovered around 4.15pm on Thursday, in an isolated spot along the Bannerghatta-Kaggalipura main road.
The boy has been identified as Nischith, a Class 7 student. It was suspected that Nischith knew the accused, and allegedly based on previous communications between the two, he rode off with the assailants on their bike.

The boy’s father, who is an assistant professor at a private college, reported his son missing to the Hulimavu police when he did not return home. Late in the night, the accused called the boy’s father and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for the boy’s return. The Hulimavu police began looking for the accused, based on the mobile tower location of the call.
After arranging the money, the boy’s parents apparently reached the location where the accused had asked them to come to hand over the payment. The accused then decided to refuse the ransom for the boy’s release. They allegedly decided to kill him because he knew them, and his statement could lead to their arrest.
The man, who found the body, said he had gone to retrieve his buffaloes that were grazing around 4.15 pm Thursday. He saw the body on a boulder and informed the police. Anekal police sent out a message to nearby police stations asking if any abduction or missing complaint was made following which the boy was identified.
