A Bengaluru college student has accused the owner of her paying guest accommodation of raping her, police said, adding that the suspect has been arrested.
In her complaint, she stated that on the night of August 2, Ashraf approached her inside her room and made inappropriate comments. He said he would provide her food and accommodation only if she “cooperated with him”. After rejecting his requests, Ashraf forcefully took her to a car and drove her to a different location where he assaulted her, reported NDTC.
“At around 12:41 AM, while I was at the paying guest accommodation, Ashraf came to me and insisted I cooperate with him for food and shelter. When I refused, he grabbed my hand, dragged me, and forced me into a car, taking me to a room where he sexually assaulted me.” she alleged.
The victim attempted to inform her friends by sending her location, but before she could do so, Ashraf eventually dropped her off at the paying guest house between 1:30 AM and 2:15 AM.
In June, a 21-year-old nursing graduate alleged that she was also sexually assaulted by the owner of a PG accommodation. In that case, the accused, a 40-year-old man named Ravi Teja Reddy, was accused of raping the victim while interrogating her for a gold theft. The girl rejected his sexual advances and ended up getting physically violent, and she filed a complaint, which resulted in Reddy’s arrest.
