Are Schools And Colleges In Maharashtra Closed On August 20? Check Details News24 –


Mumbai has been experiencing relentless rain and severe waterlogging over the past two days. Amid the worsening conditions, the India Meteorological Department has sounded a red alert in many regions. Additionally, a warning has been issued for extremely heavy rainfall till August 20. There are speculations about whether schools will remain shut on Wednesday, with parents and students seeking clarity on the matter.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has not issued any official notification regarding the closure of schools for tomorrow. However, incidents in the past have led to unavoidable circumstances due to rain, where sudden holidays were declared. At present, the Panvel Municipal Corporation has ordered a shutdown of schools in the city on August 20.

Educational institutions are also likely to remain closed in Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburbs, Thane, Ratnagiri, Palghar, Raigad, Chandrapur districts, and the Pune Ghat and Nashik Ghat areas, as a red alert is in place for the next 12 hours. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
