Heavy rains lashed many areas of Delhi-NCR on Monday morning, due to which the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Gurugram and Faridabad. Along with this, a yellow alert is in force in other parts of the region. The department has also predicted light rain in both these cities for Tuesday. A day before these fresh warnings, a red alert was issued for Ghaziabad on August 31 and an orange alert for Noida.
On the other hand, the water level of the Yamuna river remains above the danger mark, and the river appeared to be in a lot of spate in the pictures of Monday morning. A few days ago, the river had crossed the danger level of 205.33 meters and this increase is expected to continue even after midnight. Flood control department officials are alerting people through loudspeakers on foot and through boats.
