A 41-year-old techie lost his life after being bitten by a venomous snake that had taken shelter in his slippers. The family rushed him to the hospital, but his life couldn’t be saved.
According to NDTV, the techie, Manju Prakash, a resident of Ranganatha, was an employee of TCS.
As per the police report, Prakash had gone out to buy juice and after returning, he unknowingly slipped his feet into Crocs slippers in which the venomous snake had taken shelter. He then went inside his room to rest.
Prakash had met with an accident in the past and had lost sensation in his feet, which prevented him from feeling the snakebite. A worker spotted the reptile and informed Prakash’s father, who removed the snake from the slippers. The snake was later found to be dead.
Later, family members found Prakash unconscious with foam coming out of his mouth. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The incident has become a talking point among residents about how venomous snakes are increasingly found in residential areas during the monsoon season.
