Greater Noida News: There is a good news for Greater Noida residents, as the authority has shifted its attention towards groundwater conservation. Under the initiative of the Greater Noida Authority CEO, Ravi Kumar NG and supervision of ACEO Prerna Singh, the Water-Sewer Department (Jal-Sewer Department) has laid a distribution line of treated water from Kasna STP to Eachachhar. The work which was long due was completed on Saturday.

12 KM Long Pipeline Laid

A 12 km long pipeline has been laid, which will be used to water parks and green belts. Apart from this, the water needs of commercial units can also be met with treated water. This will reduce dependence on groundwater and will strengthen water conservation. Moreover, there is a plan to lay this pipeline at many other places in the coming time.

No Need For Groundwater

Senior Manager of the Water Department of the Greater Noida Authority, Rajesh Kumar stated that till now groundwater was exploited for irrigation of parks and green belts of Eachachhar. But, now the irrigation will be carried out by water coming from this treated pipeline. For this purpose, a direct connection will be given. He added that the treated water will also be supplied to nearby industrial areas like Ecotech-1 Extension as per the requirement. If the industries demand supply form this water line, then connection will be given by laying small pipelines.

Green Zone And Industry To Benefit

This project is set to benefit two important sectors simultaneously. An alternative water source will be available to irrigate urban greenery, whereas industries will get a low cost and environment-friendly option for use in production. In view of the water crisis and falling groundwater level, such projects are extremely necessary for future.
