Model Town roundabout in Sector 62 to Get a Long Circular Skywalk Soon, Huge Relief for Ghaziabad Pedestrians Crossing NH-9 News24 –

Noida-NCR News: In order to lessen traffic and increase pedestrian safety, the Model Town roundabout in Sector 62, Noida, is receiving major renovations. The main project is a circular skywalk that is 400–530 meters long, with an iron ceiling, escalators, and elevators to improve communication with the Delhi–Meerut Expressway and allow secure pedestrian movements. The broader plan to establish a model mobility corridor in the region also includes planned parking, additional walkways, and widened roads.

Circular Skywalk: Project Cost

An organization has been chosen by the authority to build a skywalk at Sector 62’s Model Town roundabout. The project, which would cost ₹27 crore (about $270 million), has been given to ST Construction Company. The survey work has been finished quickly. Within a year, construction is anticipated to be finished.

Important Improvements and Features

Skywalk: To enable safe and convenient pedestrian movements, particularly for those connecting to the Electronic City Metro station and traveling to different sectors, Delhi, or Meerut, a circular skywalk is being built.

Amenities: To assist all pedestrians, including the elderly and those with impairments, the skywalk will have lifts and escalators on both sides.

Road Improvements: The surrounding roads will be widened, and the roundabout will be smaller. Additionally, new walkways and well-organized parking lots are being constructed, especially close to metro stations.

Traffic Jam: The location is a vital link for NH-9 commuters, and the heavy traffic from surrounding offices and residential areas causes traffic bottlenecks, which are intended to be greatly reduced.

Project Status: The construction tender procedure is proceeding after the design was approved. The 3.5-kilometer section from Sector 62 to Mamura is being developed as a model corridor as part of a broader project.

Pedestrians will have an easier and safer alternative to using the roadways to cross the congested crossroads. The expansion and improvement of the road network should result in less traffic and smoother traffic flow for drivers. Public transportation in the neighborhood will be easier to use thanks to the upgraded infrastructure, which includes the skywalk and increased metro links.
