Greater Valley School celebrates Sports Day, chief guest Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt encourages students News24 –


Greater Valley School, located in Omega-2 in Greater Noida, celebrated ‘Sports Day’ on Saturday (November 8, 2025). Chief Guest of the event, Former Indian professional wrestler and Padma Shri awardee, Yogeshwar Dutt, encouraged the students enrolled in classes 3 to 12th grade, who participated in the event.

On this occasion, Greater Valley School Chairman Sudhir Shukla also motivated the participants in various competitions and distributed prizes among the winners. Under the leadership of Greater Valley School Principal Anamika Sood, the event concluded on a successful note.

Yogeshwar Dutt has received numerous national and international awards in wrestling. He won a bronze medal for India in the 60 kg freestyle event at the 2012 London Olympics. Dutt also bagged a gold medal in the 65 kg category at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He was honored by the Government of India, was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2012.

While addressing the event, Dutt encouraged children to work diligently in whichever sport or profession they are interested in and never fear or accept defeat in life, as success comes only after hard work and struggle. Meanwhile, the Sports Day was marked by the strong presence of parents, who were cheering for their children as they participated in various sports.
