Hyderabad SHOCKER: Man burns wife to death, pushes daughter in fire

Hyderabad: A shocking incident has come to light from Hyderabad, where a woman was burnt to death by her husband on Christmas Eve. The husband allegedly set her on fire in front of their children, and even pushing the daughter into flames before fleeing the scene. The incident has been reported from Nallakunta area in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Here’s what happened

The accused, identified as Venkatesh, was allegedly suspicious of his wife, Triveni, which often led to fights between them, police said. Reportedly, on December 24, Venkatesh assaulted his wife, poured petrol on her, and set her on fire. As their daughter tried to save Triveni, he pushed her into the flames and fled the house. Hearing the screams, neighbours rushed to their house. By the time they arrived, Triveni had already died from the burn injuries. The daughter, who escaped with minor injuries was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

The couple had a love marriage and were parents to two children, a daughter and a son. According to preliminary investigations, Venkatesh allegedly grew suspicious of his wife and often subjected her to harassment. Unable to bear the constant harassment, she had recently gone to stay with her parents. Triveni decided to return to him, after Venkatesh convinced her that he would change and the crime took place soon after.

Police have registered a case and also launched a search operation to nab the accused, Venkatesh, who is on the run.
