Vote counting begins, check full list of winners here


BMC Election 2026 result: The much-anticipated results of the BMC elections are about to be announced shortly. The vote counting will begin at 10 am, which will shape the Mumbai’s governance and development priorities in the coming years. While the official list of winners is yet to be declared, the political landscape of the city is expected to be a mix of established leaders and new faces.

The final list of winning candidates will be published once the results are officially announced by the State Election Commission (SEC), Maharashtra. Counting will continue ward-wise under strict supervision, and results will be declared in phases as counting concludes in each counting centre. The SEC is expected to release the official results and seat tallies for all 227 wards later in the day, following which the complete list of elected corporators will be made public.

Key candidates

Key candidates in the fray include BJP’s Tejashwi Abhishek Ghosalkar, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar, MNS’s Shalaka Dilip Hariyan and Congress candidate Sheetal Ashok Mhatre, along with several sitting corporators and former mayors contesting crucial wards. Prominent among them is former Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar of the Shiv Sena (UBT), contesting from Ward 193 in the Khar–Santacruz belt. The BJP has fielded Tejasvee Ghosalkar from Ward 179 in Bandra West and senior leader Ravi Raja from Ward 205 in Goregaon West. Congress leader Harshwardhan Sapkal is contesting from Ward 214 in Andheri East, representing the Opposition alliance in the suburbs.
