According to reports, the incident occurred on January 26, around 6.54 am, when the 31-year-old woman stepped out for a routine morning walk in HSR Layout’s Teachers’ Colony.
Video shows techie struggling to fend off the dog
The now-viral clip from the gated residential colony shows the pet dog attacking the techie without provocation while she struggles to fend off the animal. As the dog continued to maul her, a man immediately rushed to save her, but it lunged at him as well. The woman suffered critical injuries in the hands, legs, and face.
Bystander comes to the rescue
The CCTV footage shows the man grabbing the pet dog by its neck and pulling it away from the techie. In the meantime, she managed to get back on her feet and retreat indoors. She shut the gate behind her while bystanders pulled the aggressive dog away. The brutal attack left the woman with deep bite wounds and lacerations, resulting in over 50 stitches, reports added. Her condition is said to be stable now, but she will require time to overcome the traumatic incident.
Victim’s husband alleges negligence
The techie’s husband has filed a complaint at the HSR Layout Police Station, accusing the dog owner of negligence. He further alleged that the animal was unleashed and posed a known risk to people in the residential area. The shocking event captured on CCTV footage has sparked widespread concern over residents’ safety and the responsibility of pet owners.
