Sydney Cricket Ground Staff Reprimands Pakistani Fan For Displaying Poster Of Imran Khan, Video Goes Viral News24 –

A video from Australia’s iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has gone viral on social media in which a ground staff is seen reprimanding a Pakistani cricket fan for displaying a poster of the country’s World Cup-winning captain and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The incident took place during second T20I between Australia and Pakistan at the venue.

In the viral video, the ground staff is seen yelling at the fan, saying “You either give it to me or you go home”.

Netizens are criticising Pakistani authorities and Cricket Australia over the incident. Sharing the video of the matter, an X user expressed his dismay and wrote, “A security guard confronting fans, forcing them to remove photos of @ImranKhanPTI. Pathetic to see such disregard for respect & freedom. Even Australian fans, who admire IK, were upset. PCB’s decision to prohibit Khan’s images reflects disgusting levels of pettiness. Wonder why @CricketAus or @ICC would allow such nonsense! #Cricket #PAKvsAUS”.
Notably, Imran is a controversial figure in Pakistan and has several legal cases running against him.

Imran Khan’s legacy as a cricketer

Imran had led Pakistan to victory in the 1992 ODI World Cup. He is considered one of the all-time greatest all-rounders in world cricket. In Test cricket, he scored 3807 runs at an average of 37.69, including six centuries. As a bowler, he took 362 wickets in the longest format of the game.
