Team India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal showcased a glimpse of his talent during the IND vs AUS 1st Test played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The young left-handed smashed a brilliant century after being dismissed for a duck in the first, Jaiswal played an innings of 161 runs from 297 balls. His innings ensured that the Indian team win the match by a massive margin of 295 runs. Apart from playing a clinical knock, the youngster shared some fun moments with peak Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. The left-handed pacer dismissed Jaiswal for a duck in the first innings, whereas during the second innings, Jaiswal took him on and smashed huge sixes towards the leg side. One of the famous battles between both players still murmur in the Indian fans’ ears when Yashasvi Jaiswal said, ‘you are coming too slow’ to Mitchell Starc.
Alastair Cook Heaps Praise On Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Attitude
Former England captain Alastair Cook heaped praise for Yashasvi Jaiswal’s mental attitude wherein he praised his ability to perform under pressure. Cook said to TEN Sports, “And sledging Mitchell Starc, saying at a certain stage, I think he wasn’t on 100, he wasn’t on anything on a major score, but he’s telling him you’re bowling slow…and I’ve faced Mitchell Starc, and he certainly doesn’t bowl slow. And if he was bowling slow, I’d keep my mouth shut and not wind him up, but have the confidence to do that as a 22-year-old…”
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been among the most aggressive and free-flowing batters in the modern-day Indian team setup. The latter goes after the bowler from the first ball which is a unique and only batters do it in the present time. The Mumbai batter will once again have the same responsibility of performing for the Indian team when they take on the Aussies in the second Test set to begin from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval ground in Adelaide.
