The sudden retirement of India’s spin maestro Ravichandran Ashwin has sparked many speculations. He took retirement from international cricket on Wednesday after the 3rd test match in Gabba. Recently Ashwin in an interview with 7 Cricket seems to drop some hints about moving abroad by mentioning his fondness towards the English and Australian supermarkets and his aspiration to work with couple of leagues.

Upon asking by the host Bharat Sundaresan, about travelling abroad, Ashwin said,

“Supermarkets are amazing. Australian and England supermarkets are just unbelievable. They just give you, I can stay in a supermarket for three hours and you can just go through the alleys until you find one of your own countrymen. But then it’s amazing. I mean all the trade off is that you need to share a couple of, I mean give them a couple of pictures, but you can just keep going on and on around the supermarkets. I love it.”

Later in the interview his wife, Prithi Narayanan also said,

“He has a couple of league teams that he loves to, you know, work with, embrace the slow life, as hard as it might be for people like him, but maybe he’ll settle down.”

All these statements by Ashwin and his wife suggest that he might move out of India for mentoring and coaching or just to leave a slow and settled life, but we cannot be sure of anything. Although these statements are all just speculations, it seems like after Virat Kohli, It would be possible for Ashwin to move abroad as well.
