India vs England: Rohit Sharma Surpasses Sachin Tendulkar In A Stunning Record


In a remarkable turn of events when Rohit Sharma was struggling with his form, he hit a stunning half century against England during the second ODI at Cuttack in Barabati Stadium and overtook the legendary Sachin Tendulkar‘s record for the most runs as an opener for India. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma surpassed Tendulkar and moved to 2nd place just behind Virender Sehwag.

Sachin Tendulkar has scored 15,335 runs as an opener and after today’s half century Rohit Sharma overcame him by scoring 15,350 runs. Although the ‘Sultan of Multan’ stands tall with 16,119 runs but what is appreciable in Rohit‘s innings is he overtook cricketing legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar.
