Imam-ul-Haq Injury: Pakistan Batter Rushed To Hospital After Getting Injured During NZ Vs PAK Match

Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq was taken to the hospital after he was hit on the face while playing Pakistan’s third ODI match against New Zealand on April 5. Imam had to depart the field in the third over of Pakistan’s pursuit when a short cover throw slipped under his helmet and hit him squarely on the face.

Imam, who was in visible pain, collapsed on the ground soon after being hit. He was treated by the team’s physio and then removed from the field on a medical stretcher. He was evaluated for concussion and replaced by Usman Khan during the latter part of the game. The broadcaster later established that Imam had been hospitalized for the injury. Imam was on 1 run from 7 balls when the incident happened.

Pakistan had already lost the three-match series after defeats in the first two games in Napier and Hamilton. Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan suffered big losses against a Michael Bracewell-led New Zealand side. Mark Chapman’s spectacular century helped New Zealand win the series opener by 73 runs. In the second ODI, a joint effort from Michael Hay and Ben Sears gave Pakistan an 80-run loss chasing a target of 293.
