The second match of the double header on April 19 was Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) versus Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. LSG won the toss and decided to bat first, eventually managing to score 180 runs. The top order batters for LSG kept failing, other than none from Rajasthan in pursuit. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored very well, but LSG won the match by 2 runs.
LSG posted 180 runs
For LSG, opening batter Mitchell Marsh managed only 4 runs. Aiden Markram played a very good innings and made 66 runs off 45 balls. Number 3 batter Nicholas Pooran also failed, just 11 runs off 8 balls. Rishabh Pant aswal only managed to score 3 runs off 9 balls and did only marginally better. Ayush Badoni batted at number 5 and scored a nice 34-ball 50 runs innings. Abdul Samad also justified his position with 30 runs off 10 balls at the end. LSG only managed to score 180 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Disappointment For Rajasthan
Rajasthan started their chase of 181 quickly. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who debuted at 14 years of age, and Yashasvi Jaiswal put together 85 runs for the first wicket. Vaibhav made 34 runs off 20 balls, and hit a six off his first ball in the IPL to be the 10th player to do so. Jaiswal made an excellent 74 runs off 52 balls. Rajasthan ended their innings at 178 runs for 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The last over by Avesh Khan, sealed the victory for LSG.

Rajasthan needed 9 runs in the last over to win. Avesh Khan bowled excellently, and only allowed 6 runs and ensured LSG’s victory. He ended with figures of 3 wickets for 37 runs from 4 over.
