According to a report in Cricbuzz. Eswaraiah passed the order after finding the former India captain guilty. According to him, Azhar has exceeded his authority to benefit himself. A complaint was lodged on February 28, 2025, by the Hyderabad-based outfit Lords Cricket Club, one of the members of the state cricket association.
The Issue of Conflict of Interest
LCC said that Azhar violated the rules and regulations of the HCA by naming the North Stand after his name, and it should continue as VVS Laxman for all practical purposes.
LCC requested Eswaraiah to take action against Azharuddin. His action was labelled as illegal and arbitrary for allowing the Mohammed Azharuddin Stand above the name of the VVS Laxman Pavilion.
In a meeting held on November 25, 2019, which was chaired by Azharuddin, a decision was passed to name the North Stand after his name, which was the VVS Laxman Pavilion.
