Whether it’s the IPL or international cricket, inconsistency has long shadowed Ishan Kishan’s career. Kishan had a pretty good start to his international cricket and every cricket fan was eagar to watch Kishan play fearlessly.
Kishan’s Seasaw Comeback
After losing his central contract and place in the Indian team in 2024, the 2025 IPL season was a golden opportunity for him to silence critics and make a strong statement. While playing for a new franchise, Kishan started with a bang by getting a blistering century against the Rajasthan Royals, but what followed was a steep decline.
In the next seven innings, Kishan has managed just 33 runs at an average of 5.5, striking at a modest 86.84.
Kishan’s Unforgettable Game Against MI
His struggles peaked during a forgettable outing against the Mumbai Indians, where a moment of poor decision-making saw him throw his wicket away. Cameras later caught him visibly frustrated, muttering angrily to himself in the dressing room.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on whether Kishan can turn things around or whether he slips further down the pecking order in India’s wicketkeeper-batter race.
Kishan Returns To Central Contract
Despite failures, Kishan was rewarded with the latest BCCI Central Contract 2025 along with Shreyas Iyer who was too out of the contract last year.
