Virat Kohli Gets The Last Laugh, Recreates KL Rahul’s ‘This Is My Ground’ Celebration! The DC Star’s Reaction Will Surprise You

There was a speculation about a potential heated retaliation by Virat Kohli at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, particularly following KL Rahul’s enthusiastic celebration in Bengaluru last month, the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper took a calm route. Kohli produced another crucial half-century and went quietly to the top of the IPL 2025 standings with his team.

There was, however, a tongue-in-cheek reminder of the earlier game. When Delhi Capitals had stunned RCB at the Chinnaswamy, Rahul, played a knock of unbeaten 93, and celebrated with ‘This is my ground’ gesture in the middle of the field. This time, with RCB taking revenge in Delhi, Kohli jokingly replicated the same move after the match. Rahul, who was quick to observe, smiled and gestured towards the ‘Virat Kohli Pavilion’ a nod to the local hero at his home ground. The two veteran Indian stars then exchanged a warm hug and a laugh, putting aside any tension that had arisen in a heated on-field confrontation earlier in the match.

RCB’s turnaround went on with them securing an easy six-wicket win against Delhi Capitals, posting their seventh victory of the season six out of these being away victories, which gave them a new IPL record of the most wins away from home in a single season.

Pursuing 163, Kohli held the innings together with a calm 51 off 47 balls, sharing a match-winning 119-run partnership with Krunal Pandya. The all-rounder was in dream form, not out on 73 off 47 balls, hitting five boundaries and taking the fence four times. This was Krunal’s first IPL half-century since 2016 and won him the Player of the Match award.

With this victory, RCB are just one step away from clinching their playoff berth and will be back home to take on arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in a high-pressure encounter.
