Who Did Delhi Capitals Pick To Replace Australian Batter Jake Fraser-McGurk? Find Out News24 –


Australian top order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk will not head back to India to join Delhi Capitals for the rest of IPL 2025, which will restart on May 17. The national capital based franchise went on X on Wednesday, May 14, to make the development official. He has been replaced by Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the rest of the season, who made a return to Delhi Capitals after 2 years.

Overseas Players Refusing to Return

Fraser-MGurk is the second overseas player after England’s Jamie Overton, who has withdrawn from the rest of IPL 2025. Overton forms part of the Chennai Super Kings team, and he played 3 matches of the IPL 2025 before its suspension for one week from 9th May 2025. According to reports, DC, who are still in the playoffs race in the IPL 2025, are even waiting for confirmations from quite a few of their first XI overseas players, including the likes of Aussie left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc, and the South African duo of Tristan Stubbs and Faf du Plessis. Most likely Stubbs will not join DC as the WTC Final is ahead and the South African authorities have called the batter back.

Mc-Gurk This Season

Fraser-McGurk, who was picked for Rs 6 crore by Delhi Capitals in the mega auctions of last year after his super performance with the bat in IPL 2024, was horribly out of form in the IPL 2025. He was able to score only 55 runs in 6 matches and 38 of this runs were made from one of his innings. His last appearance for the Axar Patel-led team was on the 16th of April, playing against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

DC New Schedule

Delhi Capitals will face table-toppers Gujarat Titans in their 12th league match of IPL 2025 on Sunday, May 18, at Arun Jaitley Stadium and then take on Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on May 21. DC’s final league match is against Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 24.
