Delhi Capitals In Trouble Again! Replacement Of Jake Fraser McGurk Might Not Participate In IPL 2025
The Delhi Capitals (DC) roped in Bangladesh Pacer Mustafizur Rahman for the remaining part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. But this move has now faced a serious hurdle as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made a claim that they have not been contacted for any Non-Objection Certificate (NOC).
The player signings in IPL are done after getting official clearance from respective cricket boards. But according to ESPNCricinfo, BCB Ceo Nizamuddin Chowdhury stated that they have not received any formal request regarding Mustafizur Rahman’s participation. Rahman is also scheduled to play for his national team and this is again overlapping with the final season of IPL 2025.
“Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule,” Chowdhury told ESPNcricinfo on Wednesday. “We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I have also not received any such official communication from Mustafizur either.”
The update comes just after Jake Fraser-McGurk backed out and Mustafizur was announced as his replacement in the Delhi Capitals squad. Bangladesh will be playing the T20I against UAE on May 17 and May 19 followed by T20I series against Pakistan on May 25, 27 and 30 and the final two games are scheduled on June 1 and June 3.
For Delhi Capitals, the team has three remaining matches scheduled on May 18, May 21 and May 24 and then the playoffs if the team qualifies.
